Roof A/C Fan Modification (continued)

Now you are ready to connect to the ECC Control Module. If you have installed switches as I have to allow you to return to normal operation, be sure to label the switches for Front or Rear Air Conditioner and Normal or Modified operation.

First, unplug either the front or rear a/c plugs (pigtails) It is best to do these one at a time, although the rear a/c connector is colored red if you get them confused. To connect to the yellow wire on the pigtail, it is easiest to just scrape away part of the insulation. Now, cut the gray wire and connect one end to the appropriate wire to the box. In my case, I connected the green wire from my project box to the yellow wire, one red wire to one of the gray wires and the other red wire to the other gray wire on the ECC Control Module pigtail. Connect the ground wires from each of the relays to coach ground. In my case, these were the black wires coming from my project box and I just attached them to the 115v panel box.

Here is a picture of the completed wiring (less soldering and taping) for the rear air conditioner.

Be sure that you carefully solder and tape all connections.

Now, all that you have to do is to plug your connectors (pigtails) back into the ECC Control Module and slide the project box and wires in with the Control Module. Take care in plugging the pigtails back in as it is easy to get off one terminal. If you wonder why your a/c doesn't work, then this is probably the culprit.

Now, you will be able to sleep at night without the a/c fan being on all the time!
